I
enjoyed the Universal Loving-Kindness exercise. Repeating the phrases over and
over again really helped my mind and body become relaxed. I was able to open my
heart and express my loving feelings for others close to me. For some reason,
these types of exercises which involve repeating phrases seem to work better
for me, instead of the audio exercises.
After
completing the integral assessment process, I realized the area I should focus
more on is interpersonal flourishing. There are a few personal and family
issues that I am currently dealing with right now. I believe this universal
loving kindness exercise would be very helpful in developing greater wellness
in this area that I am having some issues with.
I'm with you on the interpersonal assessments. I have so many things to work on with my family, between working, going to school, doing homework, and just everyday things, we seem to let our family unit slide. I think that this exercise will also help to feel it in your heart! Great post!
ReplyDeleteHi Kayla,
ReplyDeleteI too need to work on the interpersonal area. I didn't go into an explanation either since it is personal. I'm glad to see you found the exercise relaxing. I've been reading a few other blogs that had good feedback on it too. I like both the audio and the self-directed ones. My favorite one so far is subtle mind practice. What's your favorite?
Hey Kayla, I appreciate your transparency on integral flourishing. I can also relate to using the Loving kindness in that area that can be so difficult sometimes and bring out areas in us that we wish were not there. The Loving Kindness exercise really helped to get my mind and then my heart in a mode of forgiveness that is incredibly freeing. Christina
