I feel that this particular audio exercise was beneficial in way
that I felt relaxed. Comparing to the previous audio exercises we had to listen
to, this one had more of a soothing voice which helped me relax better. The
downside to this was that it was hard for me to stay focused. I was really
focused in the beginning of the exercise up until the halfway point when I started
to lose concentration. I’m not sure if it was because of the long length of the
audio exercise or something else. I think this exercise would be beneficial for
some, but not for all. I might have to try the exercise one more time to see if
I would recommend it to others.
A mental workout means to train or exercise the mind. Exercising
the mind can have great benefits in feeling less stressed and increasing
positive thoughts and actions. To implement mental workouts in my daily life, I
can practice meditation, read books, and do puzzles/games.
Kayla, I agree that mental "workouts" can help us to train the mind to reduce stress, relax and simply take a moment for ourselves in this hectic world. I also like to practice meditation, I like yoga and reading books. I find it all relaxing and it allows for me to rest my brain!

I agree, this was a bit long. I tend to find more relaxation in "doing" then in shutting myself down completely. Because this was so long, and a bit slow, it made me more tired then rested. For that reason, I am not sure I would recommend this exercise to anyone. I have done other exercises like this one that did not drag on so much, and left me feeling more renewed and at peace.
ReplyDeleteKayla,
ReplyDeleteI too found it difficult to focus through the whole exercise. Perhaps it was too long for someone who is not used to meditation. It's like physical exercise, sometimes you have to work your way up to the whole routine.
Kayla,
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you that the exercise overall was pretty relaxing but I had a hard time concentrating through some of it. I think the problem I had was the length of time between the actually exercise activities. While the sound of the ocean was soothing and relaxing I couldn't help but think about other things after a while. I would still recommend it to someone looking for a menal exercise but I think there are better ones out there that help keep a person better focused.
Kayla, I find I have a difficult with my exercises initially. I have this I think because I am so busy it is very difficult to try and take this time to visualize where I want to be some days and some days I find it is much easier to achieve.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy doing puzzles and work finding for my mental fitness activities.
